Fiery, intense and passionate, Sekhmet sweeps down upon us, challenging us to alter our course, pointing us in the direction of change. Loving, yet demanding, Sekmet is not content to stand by and watch us languish in our indecision and passivity. One of the oldest lioness goddesses in the Egyptian pantheon, Sekhmet is the agent of change.
She is the force that arises from within when it is time to make a decision, move out of our internal conflict and act. She is both fiercely protective and yet also a great warrior, capable of setting strong boundaries and assisting us in cutting the cords that bind us to the past. She helps us to reconcile the opposites that war within us by finding the third thing that is the solution to our internal conflict. |
Highlights for the Month Sobek (Saturn) entered the sign of Ma'at (Libra) last month and into a square with Osiris (Pluto).
These two planets were exactly square on November 15 and will stay in square to one another through February, 2010. Ma'at is the goddess of order and balance; Sobek is the old king whose primary motivation is the preservation of the status quo. Osiris is the Egyptian god of death and regeneration. Khnum (Capricorn), the creator of new forms, currently emanates through Osiris. This square between Pluto (Osiris) and Saturn (Sobek) indicates that we have now entered an even deeper period of transformation and change.
The old ways no longer work and we must let go in order for a new form to be born. Wadjet (Uranus) turns direct on December 1. The period from November 30 through December 7 will be important as Thoth (Mercury) moves through relationships first to Wadjet (Uranus) and then Osiris (Pluto) and Sobek (Saturn). Communication during this time is extremely important. Pay attention - look for unexpected messages that indicate the path we must follow, both collectively and as individuals.
